I can't imagine a driver would do that on purpose. Why risk scratching the car or even popping a tire?

Although fake it really does happen. I had a RC car once that stopped in a lane then a driver accelerated above the speed limit in a residential area. I then drove the RC car out of there as he was 20 more feet to go and still accelerating
