3 hours?! no wonder they are so costly!

I can see that you realy are uncomfortable with a pastry bag
you should pin the opening of the bag between your thumb and index finger
then twist the bag to build pressure inside the bag
then squeeze away
twist the bag again when the pressure inside decreases

To make almond macaroons, is it possible to substitute almond flour for coconut?
All the confusion about macarons vs. macaroons is very frustrating because it has made it very difficult to find my favorite cookie in the world - the almond macaroon. I really dislike the brightly colored french macarons that have appeared everywhere. They are over the top, expensive, and too sweet.

I don't like coconuts

macaroon=type of meringue with coconut shreds
macaron=type of cookie sandwhich, with airy cookies consisted mostly of sugar, almond flour, and egg whites, and a creamy filling.

@very80s Really??? Did you not read the response to the other comments? This is how we make Macaroons -Notice the extra 'O' - Macaroons are meringues with shredded coconut - not to be confused with the similar sounding and yet differently spelled macaron which are usually two meringue cookies made with egg whites and almond flour with butter cream sandwiched between them…
But I can see how you would get confused...
