@jimistephen Wow, I don't see how I got off track so much. I am sorry. From my understanding, or at least what I have been told, this all started around 1970. That is about the same time the song and movie came out titled Jesus Christ Super Star. From that song/movie if that is not what got rock music into Christianity?

@jimistephen Galatians 3:28-29 we see that all Christians come from different backgrounds and cultures. This passage describes backgrounds like Jews and Greeks, slaves and masters, and gender as insignificant differences when it comes to our inheritance from Jesus Christ. The same attitude should be held for the music people listen to as long as they do not glorify evil works.

@jimistephen The instruments are irrelevant. Music was created by God for God. "Music fills the courts of heaven as heavenly beings praise our Lord and Creator. When God created the world, the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy" (Job 38:7). God created man in His own image, to be a instrument of praise. He gave humans the ability to sing and to make music with musical instruments to complement the voice.

@streetrace442 This hole thing started when you stated that you used to listen to this kind of music from grand funk railroad and I stated I'm not surprised because people in charge of most churches now where listening to secular music 30 years ago and like that style of music so they started writing christian lyrics to that style of music, therefore making it a Hymn by definition. Phil. 4:8 the states we should think on those things that are pure and right.

@jimistephen And the Rheims New Testament, what was a direct translation of the Latin Vulgate done by the Catholics when they knew that they couldn't keep an english translation form existing. .greatsite(dot)com/timeline-en

@streetrace442 i concede I was wrong, The King James Bible can be traced back to the Wycliffe Bible of 1380 which was translated from the Latin Vulgate. More directly has a linage with the Tyndale which was a translation of the 1516 Greek-Latin New Testament of Erasmus, which he translated at Martin Luther's house. The Cloverdale bible which was also translated at Luther's house. The Great Bible which was also translated by Cloverdale.

@jimistephen OK, you quoted 2 Samuel 6. That still doesn't state what those instruments are and you know it. I believe you know too that's why you refuse to quote the Bible because you don't want to admit you are wrong on what you are trying to justify. That's one reason why I keep quoting Romans 3:4. I'll show you what else it states: "For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD," 1 Samuel 15:23

@jimistephen You don't get it. I'm not the one that is telling you. All I'm saying is that "IF" you are a Christian, then let God though His Word be your final authority in all things and stop trying to justify yourself on how you "feel" about such issues. (II Tim. 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21; Rev. 22:18-19). Because what you are really saying is, I'm smarter than God

@jimistephen Last but not least, the AV1611 was written from the Masoretic text (Old Testament) and the Textus Receptus (New Testament). That is why no one claiming themselves to be catholic is allowed to own one. I can assure you the one you read from comes with the vatican's approval: NKJV, ESV, ASV, RSV, NIV, TNIV, etc. "...the word of God is not bound." 2 Timothy 2. The AV1611 is the "only one in exists" that has a crown copyright. Ponder that!
