No doubt, this track is one of the best slow tempo song I have ever heard. This is in the same rank as micheal jackson's 'lady in my life' and r. kelly's 'when a woman is fed up'. You can't enough hearing it over and over again because its evergreen and a classic that can't be equal. If kris okotie was from the western world, this track would have won a a grammy over and over again.

I could never forget the day when his Dad came and informed us that Edo College had made arrangements for little Chris to complete his primary school courses at their campus in Benin, and that they didn’t want him attending any more admission interviews. We were all heartbroken, and we missed his presence as the “Key Man” of our small Apapa G.R.A band. Eric Offiong

Oh yes he was loved by every institution, or person that was fortunate enough to know him. Even before his primary school graduation, many schools were in competition to have him as a future student. The competition from secondary schools was so tense that Edo College invited him to come from Lagos for admissions interview in Benin. At the end of the interview, Edo College was so impressed with his performance that they decided to keep him and would not let him return to his Dad in Lagos.

The James Brown songs were his favourite in those days, and he could sing and move perfectly to almost all the songs. Young Chris was also a highly intellectual primary school boy who won several awards for his debating abilities, and knowledge in quiz contests.

I was only making the point that his gifts and talents were so obvious, even in his primary school years when I knew him. I am referring to young Chris Okotie who perfected the art of music, singing, and dancing before the age of 11, without ever setting foot in any music, singing, or dancing class. The young Chris, who was able to sing and dance exactly as in the late James Brown's youtube videos.

True, although a huge understatement.... If we were all like Kris, we would all be happy. You'll be surprised to know who this is.

Kris is one of those geniuses beloved of the people, beloved of eternity, and beloved of The Universe. Next to him, the average man stands humbled, though we be 6 feet tall. He is king. I 've known him since 1979.

Send off party, October 1983. Time goes by so quick
Chris Okotie is gifted in all areas of his life. Music is only one of his many talents.
He was my neighbor and band member at 8 Hall Lane Apapa where we grew up as kids. At the age 10, he was able to sing and dance exactly like the late James Brown. Even at that young age, those of us who knew him, knew that he was destined to be somebody. God Bless. Eric Offiong
