To use the wealth of society to educate people, which BENEFITS all society, is obviously the right thing to do which is why we have public schools (sadly we refuse to properly fund them). The "right to buy a gun and not let me town know where it is" does NOT include a right to buy weapons without registering them, or a right to buy a machine gun or leave a loaded weapon lying around for the kiddies to play with.

@TravistheHuman You just called every Supreme Court for over 200 years "collectivist." That "Well-regulated militia" referred to the National Guard has countless examples in Supreme Court ruling. It's MEMBERS do have rights that do not extend to individuals.

I'm not advocating US style national defense. I don't even go for Swiss style. My style would be cheaper than the Swiss but just as effective.
