)by G. Ansaldo & Co. of Sestri Ponente, Genoa, Italy

"viva l’Italia! Passaggi di navi e saluti a confronto"

    Grazie!

  • Beautiful ship...neither she nor Conte di Savoia deserved the fates they got.

  • it sink in slovenia and he got a twin but i foget the name

  • That part of the coast between Koper and Izola is still known as "By Rex". There's also a commemorative plate at the site.

  • what you mean at 4:06 a Diesel engine running? Rex had turbo sets

  • The only reason the British sank the Rex was that since Italy wasn't our enemy anymore, she had become Germany's enemy & they were after Rex. So Rex had it easy. The German's wanted to blow her to pieces.

  • The Rex was such a wonderful ship. Rex was the only Italian Liners that can go for speed. But still.... Rex was a floating art palace. It hurts to see her destroy like that. Italy wasn't even a enemy anymore.

  • People will always be so sooo stupid. They just destroy..and destroy....And ship.. what a ship that was!

  • I love Rex, my great grandfather worked on it!

    see my pics!

  • @TheGigmus1 no one deserved anything. my mother is %50 Italian and my grandfather is %100 Italian. they are very loving and kind people, but they were (unfortunately) guided in the wrong direction in WW2. i'm sorry about your grandfather, but it's no reason to dislike someone. besides, my great grandfather was killed by Germans, and yet i don't dislike them. the past cannot be undone, only accepted for the painful thing it is. enjoy your holiday!
