PS, my girlfriend likes Deadmau5, it's rubbing off on me a bit and I'm kinda diggin' it a bit. Not even close to The XX, Foals, Pinback or Circa, but it's my favorite that she likes I suppose.

@LONGLOTTfilms Yes, to each his own, which is why I love music.

Not the best as in, I don't think it's the best, but people can always believe what they want. I think Yannis Philippakis, Anthony Green and Rob Crow are kick ass writers, any of the three of them are the best song writers in my opinion. Others can think Davis is.

I don't hate on people for thinking Davis is a good song writer and people tend to not hate on me for liking Circa Survive, Foals and Pinback.

@aquariyums It's because the people in LA that control music only care about money. They probably didn't make enough. So what, Superdrang and John Davis is helping through my alcoholism. That to me is music, when you can relate to it.

@aquariyums I did lay down a bit of hyperbole in that comment, haha, but I'm a lover of 'Davis's songwriting. I wasn't aware that Sucked Out? came with computers. Re: being "a #1 household name": my feeling is, if they hadn't taken the hiatus after Head Trip' , they MIGHT've become as well known as S. Pumpkins or Nirvana.TO ME ONLY, 'Davis has a songwriting win-ratio of 80%.Very catchy. As for "not the best", if you like, define best for me? "One man's meat is another man's poison." 'agree?

I'm not hating, they're not the best. but they are better than 95% of the shit we play on the radio. Which is why I rarely listen to the radio.

If "payola" weren't the order of the day; if record executives were somehow unable to deliver their "product", wrapped in hundred dollar bills to guarantee its airplay on pop radio and those ridiculous "countdown'" radio shows. If popular music were dominated by talented songwriters and musicians, rather than talentless, lip-synching puppets, who are propped up by passionless producers manufacturing overproduced, banal songs, with equally banal lyrics: Superdrag would be a #1 household name.
