  • sounds real real good. I never was crazy about a dz 302 till i road in one. my god!!! now i want one.lol..

  • @woodzo40 yea.....they don't "wake up" till around 5 grand on the tach, but when they do.....hold on!

  • @XboobtubeX Thats, no lie i watched his sun tac hit a little over 8,000 rpm. 290 hp my ass. More like 375 hp. me and my dad argue all the time about the 302. I would put one up to the 396 70 chevelle 375 hp anyday.I bet most people never ran the valves and had one tuned right in the day. I will say my friends 302 does nothing but scream and fly.

  • @woodzo40 yes...290 horsepower was a lie for the insurance companies. everybody knows they put out way more then that. haha you and dad do not agree. He has to realize the 396 is a "big" block, so it weighs more. sure it might have a little more horsepower, but the weight will make the difference. I would put my money on the 302. it has a 3 inch stroke, which makes for 1 screaming machine and still be able to stay together. after all, the 302 was born to race. designed for SCCA trans am racing.

  • The Chevy 302 was the truest factory, race motor ever built. They were not drag cars. The short stroke and big bore.

  • @drpepper350 you need to go back and read both of McNeish's books - or call him... PS was most certainly an option on all three years of 1st Generation Z28s. Cheers.

  • @aaronz28camaro I don't want to sound like a jerk, but, power steering was not an option on a 1969 Z28 Camaro. Read the McNeish books.

  • @clank4001 that is correct. but you get better flow with headers, and in my opinion, they look better.

  • @XboobtubeX they also didnt come with headers, they had cast iron log manifolds believe it or not

  • @drpepper350 but the headers are? those look like 67 Bill Thomas Headers, which are about as correct as you can get, but still not "RIGHT" on a 69 unfortunately.

PS was an option on 69z

the p/s bracket is wrong but aside from that - from what you can see the parts look right
