@ispcapret1 All wars are evil and unnecessary which only proves there's a lot of evil in this world. However, all of you who served during Viet-Nam are special heroes to my family and I. I am sure a lot of people in this country feel the same way.

I met the songwriter of this song at RCA's Music Center Of The World in Hollywood in the early 70's . He said Turn Down Day started out as a jazz instrumental

@TheFishMiester the drummer is great. What he's doing is very difficult to do - the left and right arms are moving in totally different rhythms at the same time. I could never do it no matter how I tried, haha

@OurFadedGarden Where?
-
@pigurine The 60s are here again. See what made the 60s the 60s and join what is happening.

@TheFishMiester Tell us all, just how many top 10 hits have YOU had? Cyrcle had TWO. They were managed by Brian Epstein, the manager of the Beatles. Paul Simon wrote their first hit. How many songs has Mr. Simon offered to write for you? If I were you, I'd stick with fish.

@lostmyshu Nothing can compare to the 60s good and bad.
I would trade 1 year of my life for the summer of 69

It is certainly a good thing there have been no more wars since Vietnam.
Makes me want to lie on a beach and forget all the troubles of the world. Despite the war in Vietnam and much rebellion, America was a far better place in the 1960s when this song was released. It is much worse today. I feel bad for children growing up in the 2010s. They have a very, VERY bleak future.

This song reminds me of those years as well. I was a Medical Corpsman during Vietnam, taking care of wounded Marines. That totally unnecessary war not only cost us a lot of good young men, it destroyed a lot of families forever. I had several buddies from home lost in that war, and none of their families were ever the same.
Your brother and all of them, especially the guys I worked on, are in my prayers always.
