It is because of people like you that she feels the way she feels. Why do you feel the need to depreciate her experience by comparing her to immigrants and making it seems that her experience is THAT common?? You failed to notice something central here: Children of color raised by parents from the same ethnic group are PREPARED to deal with racism but people in her situation not.

Wanting to be "accepted" and questions of "identity" not only affect transnational adoptees, but most immigrants and minorities. I understand what the Korean adoptee was saying about how things would have been different for her if she were "Caucasian," but many minorities and immigrants can say the same thing about their own experiences. Instead of being in "Asian denial" and trying to be white and "accepted" by the Jewish community, I wish she would just accept herself for who is she is.
