  • Such a masterpiece.

  • And Florence Beatrice Price won first place in the Wanermaker composition prize (USA) for her Third Symphony. Ms. Price (1887 - 1953) was the first African American woman to have a symphony performed by major orchestra.

  • Masterful!!!

  • Impressive piece! Considering the circumstances, I find it deeply moving.

  • Sorry, but it was her younger sister Lili who in 1913 was the first woman to win FIRST place of the Prix de Rome. In 1908, Nadia Boulanger won "first 2nd place" for composing a string quartet instead of a vocal fugue.

  • Boulanger, such epitome of greatness!
