  • who the hell would dislike this?

  • I'm only 27 and this music came out when I was a young kid. These guys are one of the most underrated groups of all time. I think anyone who considers themselves a lover of all music must rate REM among the elite. A truly unique style and sound that is breathtaking and inspiring every time I listen. Their music sends your mind on a winged journey, soaring over God's beautiful creation. Stipe's passion is undeniable. There will never be another REM; as special as the likes of the Beatles.

  • This is actually my favorite song. The first time I heard this I was alone, in a dark house, as a teenager..listening to this watching the sun rise. I will never forget that moment. Thanks, dad (I was listening to his cd's)

  • @ProfessorNeuwave Peel back the mountains, Peel back the sky - keep loving, keep rocking :-)

  • @nilbog44 a jerk. thats who. a jerk

  • I ended up downloading this in the end. Amazing performance of an amazing song.

  • @bernlin2000 I agree that R.E.M are an incredibly special band and one of my favourites. But considering that they've sold 30 million + albums, signed the world's most lucrative record contract at one point and spent from 1991-2011 touring huge arenas, I think it's fair to say they are pretty famous. They tailed off a little in the 2000s but they were, without a doubt, one of the biggest bands of the 90s.

  • @ProfessorNeuwave Damn Right.

  • Brilliant...

  • @sdalt001 Lightning struck when they met in 1980, that's pretty much all there is to say. It happened with the Beatles too, just like you said. Those kind of bands really only come around every 10 years or so, and they set the stage for everyone else for a generation. Sure, they were rarely as famous as many of the bands they inspired (Coldplay, Radiohead, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, etc.) but those bands wouldn't exist without them, and that makes them the greatest.

  • im dying from microwave murder please pray for me

  • @RoddyGacha forgot how cool R.E.M. fans are. We definitely have a long history to reminisce about. Good times for me too my friend.
