not one to make judgement,but if you had a boiler box at the top,or something similar,the hoe would not have to push the material down the throut of the trommel. kinda looks like maybe loss of some hard earned dollar's. just a thought.

You are right rickeft but it's a friends operation and can only help out and not make coments on what i or anyone else thinks he is happy the way things are he has been running that operation for thirty years like that, but it's not the way i would do things . He is working an old channel and getting very good results.
