@Disparity101 Kurt wasn't even in the studio when this was recorded, he was a few days late to record In Utero so Dave and Krist recorded some of Daves' songs and this one ended up on the record. And the background vocals are just Dave's voice dubbed over.

@pearlsnpjs Well Dave Grohl wrote this song and it's on his solo demo called Late! Pocketwatch and those were recorded before he was ever in Nirvana.
