Man, I wish I could be brain dead enough to find this at all factual, but, seriously, goddamn.

B-b-b-but NRA formed the same year as the KKK disbanded.

Yeah, and the Colombia Phonograph company formed the same year Hitler was born, that doesn't mean the two are connected.

There's a difference between not knowing history and not agreeing with your interpretation of it. Probably a big deal for you but not for the rest of the world.

    >implying the Spanish-American War wasn't a major conflict

    >implying the Mexican-American War wasn't either

You don't know history, do you?

I said major. As in against a force that would actually be able to put up a serious fight. Picking on your weaker/compromised neighbours doesn't constitute being a good military. Then again America has always been an opportunist, possessing more guile than integrity.

As a Candian I saw this in my politics class and found this hilarious (I know its not really accurate). Its true that Americans are afraid of a lot of things though. Most belive guns protect Americans from: The governement, the minority, the zombies, al-queda, illumnati, conspiracies, mexicans etc. I feel Americans have bigger fish to mainly i.e. the economy, obesity, education.

The eye witness accounts say otherwise. You can find several sources about the kidnappings that took place (some by Africans during a time of war and sold to Europeans. Language barriers caused this to fail over time). Bonded slavery & indentured servitude resulted in enslaved children working off the debt of their parents. It wasn't some happy exchange that took place. It varied depending on the (what would be present day) nation. Dressing up and tossing nets is ridiculous.
