I feel like Octane render is way more accurate than Lightwave. Lightwave has great built in renderer, but can't compare with Octane. Nice movie anyway. Thanks.
octane is way better than lightwave vpr, but it comes with lightwave for free and its main purpose is not to render, but to preview unfinished work, so you can render later in a non gpu mode. its so cool this guy has both.
Frankly the Octane one looks about an order of magnitude better. It also seems to have DOF... I have to agree with bryphi here, they don't really compare.
Having said that, however, VPR is fantastic, if a bit buggy still...

Try Cycles(free) and Octane you will be surprised.

Octane is much quicker... the thing I don't like about Octane is the way interior lights work. I wish you could move them around inside Octane.

THIS IS NOT A SUITABLE COMPARISON
The main fault in this comparison is the non-glossy reflection of VPR vs glossy reflection in octane.
Glossy reflection are way slower to calculate so if the VPR would have glossy ON it would be WAY slower than it is.
Even when Octane has to make more calculations is is faster than Lightwave cpu. cool!
