This is a video I filmed on the Chicago Architecture Foundation's river cruise, on 11 November 2009. Many thanks to the captain of 'Chicago's First Lady' and the tour guide for making this such a memorable trip. The music consists of two movements from Philip Glass's 'Glassworks' -- 'Facades' and 'Closing.' I filmed this in HD on my Canon Vixia HV40. So be sure to watch it in high quality.
What settings did you use to capture?

I recorded in Cine mode at 24 fps. I had read somewhere that this could be problematic, but it wasn't. In my camera's output menu I chose HDV at 1080i. Hooked camera up to my iMac with a 4-pin to 9-pin firewire cable. Opened iMovie 09, turned the camera on and iMovie literally took over. It asked me to select the aspect ratio, which was 16:9. I believe that's it. This was the first time I've captured video on my new computer with my new camera, so I may have forgotten a step. Hope this helps!
