Proof positive that the F-15 is twice as big as it needs to be and has two of everything a great fighter needs of. Also, this wasn't an F-15E, it happened many years before the advent of the E.

I'd like to see a Mig-29 or SU-27 try that.

This is unreal.

I'M AMAZED!

Because something is airborne doesn't make it aerodynamic. If you propel anything with enough thrust to espace the gravitational pull of earth it will be airborne. But there is a difference between flight and controlled flight. For a fighter jet to lose one wing and still be able to achieve controlled flight is remarkable.

ya i know...my biggest dream is to fly the f15, but its so far fetched that im not counting on having a chance of that happening. but because of my father taking me to every air show thats ever come through jax and teahing me everything he can, ive just always had a love of jets and wanted to learn about them. the fighter in this video just leaves me in awe whenever i see one because they are just so beautiful and amazing!

Well, I think something important here is to remember that these jets, afterall, are designed to fly into war zones where they are getting shot at unlike our commercial airplanes. I'd like to think that somewhere along the lines in the developement office someone asked "how can we make this thing war proof?" Btw, not 1 f15 has ever been shot down in combat. That says alot.
As for me, I had a little over 10 yrs on 15's then went into a backshop position. Loved about 90% of it all. lol

youre* planes*

ya i never even thought about the stabilizer lol but now your totally right!
i know im just a navy brat but its hard to find people that actually know what youre talking about when you say anything about jets/plans to them. i guess the only way is to go straight to the mechanics! lol
"Hmmm, very hard to believe."
For what reason ? Photos proved that the F-15 landed with only one wing. Period.
