That has to be about muscle memory because no one smart would let you knee to belly that easy.

It is a drill. possibly preparing the reflexes for a moment when you remove the grips?

how often does a guy have open guard with no grips?

how can he leg lock.... your standing up, he could go 4 a upside down knee bar i recon but not your standard leg lock!
