In this show, titled "It's a Really Small World", Aya Uekawa has created paintings using acrylic on wood panels that depict female figures captured in complex situations. The faces are rendered in a ethnically ambiguous manner, with neutral facial expressions. In a world so small, this work reflects upon emotions that are familiar to everyone.
Coincidentally, when I spoke with Aya, I discovered that our world is indeed quite small, as we found we had many mutual acquaintances we were not previously aware of!
Good Morning I wonder if you really Uekawa and because I am Brazilian and I live in Japan, thank you
