This was the hardest boss I've ever fought in any Kingdom Hearts game! It took me about an hour to actually win and then after that, I had trouble actually recording me winning this fight. xD I skipped the cutscene before the battle because it is lengthy, hope you don't mind.
Zexion is the added bonus boss of Reverse/Rebirth after beating Darkside at Destiny Islands. Only available in the PS2 remake. Here Riku is in D. Mode for the entire fight, so you can go all out on him without worrying about reverting back to normal form. The part about this fight that really irritated me was his deck. There aren't a lot of zeros that you can use to break most of his sleights so I reloaded after using them all up. When Zexion yells out, "GO!" you should see a glowing object in the air, cardbreak it immediately. This object flies after you and steals one of your cards. And reloading won't bring them back. On my other attempts, he took all my zeros. =/
One sleight called "Cyclone Snatch" has this giant tornado that sucks in Riku and steals his cards while damaging him. This one is hard to cardbreak because it steals multiple cards at once while your deck spins. So looking for a zero is really hard. If your lucky, he won't use this move so much...
Once Zexion has gathered enough of Riku's cards, he splits into two other replicas. You will want to beat him before he does this, because this is where I kept dying. You'll notice they have Riku's weapon and with it, they will destroy you easily. Around the field you'll see some lexicons (his book) burning. Zexion's second sleight, Dark Punisher, is an attack where he drags Riku to one of the lexicons and saps his HP. I've never cardbroke it before, that's where I died. Just make sure he doesn't get a hold of your deck so you won't have to go through all this.
There was one other sleight I haven't seen yet called "Catastrophe" where Zexion and his clones shoot a beam at the center of the field and apparently join together to make a giant explosion. If anyone knows where I can see this please tell me.
As for what I did, I set a zero as a shortcut and when there was a chance, I dueled Zexion. You get to use Riku's strongest duel sleight here, Dark Barrage. After you beat Zexion, you get the Zexion Enemy Card (as a clear bonus) for winning.
Level 41, Proud Mode
Zexion was a very easy boss for me.
The Cyclone Snatch was a bitch at times but being that's his most dangerous attack, it wasn't that tough for me.
Looks like it was a breeze for you as well. ^.^

It's nice to hear that someone had an easier time against him. :) Thanks, this was actually like my 20th attempt at winning. xD
