Poem by SN Solomons
based on Prévert's poem:
Music composed and performed by D W Solomons (alto and classical guitar)

Score available from
http://www.archive.org/details/TheFaceOfLove-AfterLeTendreEtDangereuxImageDeL...

This is my first "scrolling music video" - the scrolling is fairly close to the performance but, being a live performance, there may be a little "lag" from time to time. Fear not! All the notes are visible on screen as they are performed...

Technical notes:
Classical guitarists will note that I have notated the fret numbers for natural harmonics with Roman numerals and those for artificial harmonics with Roman numerals in brackets.
The XIX natural harmonics are, of course, also available on the instrument at VII, I just happen to prefer playing at XIX using the index (touch) and annular (pluck) of the right hand, to give more liberty of movement to the left hand.

Disclaimer
I am well aware that there are other songs called "The face of love" (eg those by Eddie Vedder and by Sanctus Real) - but this song is also original and has no connection whatsoever with those songs, whatever their merits....

  • Thanks to all - and treblechoir99 thanks also for the surrealist neologism métaphotore - I think I'll use that for my next piece :-)

  • Merci Claude :-)

  • This is real music for my heart and true feelings to my ears.

Thank you for this moment unique., very appreciat.

  • Very effective, David. I especially liked the "lydian" lift on "heart."

  • Soulful and deeply touching. What a fine talent!

  • Wonderful and the scroll effect was very cool!

  • Bravo David 5*****
