Pictures of the French Imperial presence in Mexico during the "Mexican Adventure" launched by Emperor Louis Napoleon III. The French Foreign Legion had its most glorious loss in Mexico and although the defeat at Puebla is most often remembered, it was the only major battle the French ever lost in Mexico. For the most part they dominated all opposition and forced the liberal, USA-allied regime to resort to guerilla war and never engage the French army in formal combat. After 1865 the United States put pressure on Napoleon to withdraw his forces from Mexico or face an American invasion to put their favored candidate back in power.

  • @Robertz1986 Don't be stupid! The USA had its plan to steal the Southwest that's why support Mexico against France to take France out of the way.

  • @KusaylaRebel actually the u.s was busy with its civil war

  • @huitzilopochtli12345 The USA kicked Mexico's ass during the Texas Revolution and the War with Mexico

  • @Franceblanc lol where did u get this load of crap from. u.s. history is known around the world mfor not getting their facts right.

  • @huitzilopochtli12345 Very well said.... The US was busy with its Indian Wars and France just inherited Mexico because Napoleon invaded Spain and de facto all spanish possession were French....

  • @Robertz1986

Yeah not that the us army could've beat France's army 1 on 1. They would've allied with mexico and it would've taken numerical superiority to do so.

  • @huitzilopochtli12345

I don't understand your statement... Spain conquered Mexico, the US conquered Mexico, and France conquered Mexico. The US actually provided Mexico the arms and munitions to fight the French, and eventually the US sent 50,000 troops to the border and the navy to the coast of Mexico and threatened war against France if Mexico wasn't liberated immediately.

  • @huitzilopochtli12345 lmao i know right.
