Morgan has to be a great athlete to make money with that swing. And they put her instructor, Martin Hall, on the Golf Channel???? No wonder handicap golfers don't get any better from golf "instruction".
You mean rather than lunging ahead of it? I think you're mostly right here...pretty damn smart, in fact. You'll notice how much she holds her shoulders back while the lower body is way, way ahead; that's a good feature in every great swing up to a point, but she's so extreme with it that, as you say, it limits her ability to release freely through the ball without having huge timing problems. If Pressel ever figures all this out and finds some length, she's gonna be a terror.
The reason she has to release that angle so early is because her lower body races out ahead of her upper coming down(which Judy mentions). If she held off the angle she'd be hitting huge blocks and hooks all day. I think that's the biggest fault with the golfing maching; they like all that spine tilt and release of the club thru impact to keep it on plane. I'd prefer to see her keep the club in front of her coming down and get more stacked over her left foot in the follow through.
Pressel simply doesn't hold the angle very well and that's a big loss of power. I know this because I do the same thing myself and can't seem to not do it. You can still play great golf but you just flat out can't hit the ball as far because you don't store that energy and get that extra whip into the ball.
I'm really surprised that's not a thing Martin Hall has fixed in her, if she still spins out that way. Mr. Hall seems to be very TGM adequate, but, maybe, she needs to take a trip down to the Swamp and get ol' Yoda to stop that transition.
@jeffy10028 Maybe you should be giving the lessons.
