This scene is from one of my favorite movies; The Vikings with Kurtk Douglas, Tony Curtis and as we can see here Ernest Borgnine as the role of the Viking leader Ragnar. Here we see that Ragnar has been captured and is put to death by being thrown into a pit full of hungry wolves. He asks the English King to being giving a Vikings death with a sword in hand and is denied, but given one anyways by Tony Curtis' character Erik. Ragnar just smiles and spooks his captures, and like a Viking, gives a hardy laugh and dives into the pit to his death to enter Valhalla, like a Viking should.
I don't own the rights to this movie.

I haven't seen this for years upon years. At that time Tony Curtis was the hottie of the day. This was shocking to me to see him preform in this kind of movie but it didn't stop me from watching it over and over. My favorite part is when Kirk runs along the ores at the beginning. Do you know if it's anywhere her on YT? Thank you for bringing up some good memories. :)

Borgnine had one of the best crazy laughs in films and it seems made a pretty damn good Viking.

A pit of wolves is more dramatic than a pit of snakes.

And yet both the actors who played them (Ernest Borgnine and Kirk Douglas) lived to age 95 ... Mr. Douglas now 96.

R.I.P. Ernest Borgnine ... here his great performance as the laughing, lusty Viking chief Ragnar prefigures (by nearly a half century) his own demise (but by natural causes), after a life of great acting deeds (and acting nearly until the end, as it were "with his boots on" and "a sword in his hand."

R.I.P. Mr. Ernest Borgnine! Thank you for sharing your talent with the world.
A life well lived, I believe...gone at age 95.
