  • I dont get it, why invent the wheel again when the concept allready exists, like in the Flyped and such..? And then the issue of a high performance rig turned into a low performance rig... And putting forward pressure on the hangstrap, hmmm.

    And...

If there was physical issues involved like having difficulty ro run or so, I could understand otherwise not.

There must have been a reason for most developers to leave this concept in the nineties...

  • @sniffinclose

These are my reasons: I don't have a flyped, only the powered harness. Trikes have a sink-rate of around 2m/sec or worse. I have 1.3m/sec, fly thermals and soar. Trikes use more fuel, I use 2,4 l/hour. After I bought the set-up I injured my knee. Running with a load is unwise for me. Launching and landing on wheels is much easier. I have done 160 launches so far, the system works well. But...one sticking point: the ground needs be smooth.

  • Hi there. Also a mosqui pilot here. What is the reason that the glider keel isn't touching the mosquito back cover ?

It's not the bar I presume, so I assume it's just you controlling the speedbar that way.

I know for a fact that Booster harnesses have a small pocket in their back for the keel to rest into.

  • @MrHighvolt

Yes that's right, On the ground as well the pitch is controlled it with the base-bar. However it is the rod which gives me that control. If the back of the keel goes down, the rear wires press down hard on the rod and can be damaged or damage the rod. That's why I moved the spring to the top end of the rod.

  • wow, what a great idea, i fly in usa, i have the same request as the other guy, i would like to see what happens to the rod when it gets to the hang loop. do you have any pictures of it? how is it attached?

i am planning to go to iran soon and i am taking a tandem glider and a power harness with me, my brother and i were thinking to use ur idea and lauch a 2 passenger mosquito this way, some how i have to attach a harness to the mossy with a little modification and try it. any pix of rod?

  • @maygoli

I added another video with the details and some comments, have a look. If you like all the tech details I so far have, ask me per e-mail. I'd be interested how you go with it. If you go tandem, and run much of the time at full power, then perhaps check with a go-cart mechanic how it affects the motor.

Iran should be a very interesting place to fly. And so is Pakistan. There is a web-site dedicated to flying hang- and paragliders in those places.

  • I'm here because of Sky Sailor. Greetings from a fellow HGFA flphg pilot, W.A.

  • Hy ! Nice job! could you send me a picture of the rod and where you hang it to the hanging of the glider? Did you have problem as the front wheels are not steerable ( like on a minimum?)

    Best regards

    JOEL LETOUZEY

  • @J77RS

One attempt to launch on a rough field ended with an awful crash. The prop hit the ground at full throttle.

The shocker allows the harness to bounce, and so helps save the harness-legs, and with them the (expensive) prop. I don't launch off rough fields anymore...
