I went the a couple times growing up......I think we went the day it closed......too bad,it was fun.....I did go to the Mini golf when it was open ......and the bleachers were still on the bank, from the Racing days(at least the cement frames were)....behind Don Medow`s ........when it was there.

Hello...This is a great piece of history! I'm putting together a video retrospective of my mother's life. She's turning 80 and she used to go to playland park, having grown up in South Bend, IN. Is there any way I could download this clip to include in my piece?

This video brings back many memories as I grew up just down the street on Ironwood in the late 50's. I remember the 4 H fair and the Scout O Rama being held at Playland. I no longer live in Indiana but travel there often. Great movie. Thanks for the memories.

Thanks so very much!
I miss the vibrancy that South Bend had when I was a child.
I now live in Chicago, which is an "alive" city. Whanever I go back to visit South Bend, I see more and moer places where old buildings used to be, but which are now just empty lots. The old buildings that remain are often boarded up. It hurts, and it just saddens me.
