Obama may follow a socialist ideology but his actions seem to be more fascist. The difference? Socialism is a doctrine that believes in the sole ownership of a collective body (government). In fascism, the public is allowed to privately own property but the government dictates how the property is to be used. Also, the government uses fear and propaganda to control. A good example of Obama's use of fascism would be the bailouts. Only companies that accepted gov control received them.
