Since you mention the metal scraper is more effective, how about rounding or dulling the corners of it to minimize the chance of cutting into the base?

Also, is it possible to OVER SCRAPE the wax off your board??

@ph4tboy These videos indicate that you don't need to iron and scrape all the way from head to tail :)

Ive heard some people mention loosen or take off bindings before a hot wax. Is that necessary?

You don't leave any ON the base. Scrape it all off and it will be IN the base.
