Been really busy lately, but wanted to post something for you guys are girls so I recorded one of my sketch sessions I do for warmups before painting. Let me know if you like these because they're fairly easy to record, just I don't know if anyone would actually care to see them cuz it's not really educational.

  • I have a friend who has a BFA and has become rather disillusioned with the transition from traditional media to digital, mainly because he feels his skills with traditional stuff are pretty much useless now since everything is digital now. He's on the digital path, but his motivation is pretty much dead, and he has quite a ways to go to get his skills up to where they should be.

    Have any recommendations for him?

  • @MedievalWerewolf I don't think the traditional to digital crossover is too hard, because almost all the same rules apply. Sure, your friend will have a bit of a learning curve to overcome, but in terms of skill, if he has skills as a traditional artist, they should carry over in the transition to digital.

  • So on photoshop, did you use the pencil tool to do the sketchy bit or the brush tool set to round-brush?

    Thanks!

  • @Epsio0 Just the default 24px spatter brush at 10px on a high res canvas. I have a brush setting tutorial explaining it.

  • hey this is awesome, do you think online lessons from you will happen anytime soon? I'm really interested and got school holidays really soon so i would be free for ages!

  • @dodo3070 I'm still working things out with the company. They're supposed to be up and running by December, so I hope to be ready for the holidays! I'm also working on some other projects at the same time that may be able to fill up some of your free time, but I can't discuss it just yet. Stay tuned though!
