Yesterday at Canterbury College, I finished off a 3D Modelling project. We had to create a train similar to one in a picture we were given out, using 3D Studio Max. This is what I have done.

  • no locomotive that i saw so far was that wide on the font side.looks more like a house than a train .And hey ,dont go all mad at me, ure critic is ure best friend ; )

  • @rbflowin Now you come to mention it, it does look rather wide as the body over-stretches the wheel bogies.

  • Nice one !!

Keep that way, you'll become a good modeler or animator.

You just have the knowledge to do that enough good.

  • @Ochenter Thank you. I have made a few alterations to this model back in September. I re-deigned the wheel bogies and moved the couplings onto them because I realized that having them on the engine meant that they would break if it was pulling something going round bends on a track.

  • Wow man, your train was one of the best of our class! What happened to the wheels? See ya in Jan!

  • Oh, hello Andrew. In the main Side View, the wheels and battery boxes are blocked due to the shadow, but if you look closely at the side view at 0:56, the wheels can be seen. I edited some cylinders to look like actual train wheels, followed Paul's video on how to do the barrier that holds them to the main bogie, created a simple box for the bogie itself, put them together underneath the train, and duplicated the bogie. I couldn't any more detail as there wasn't enough time on Tuesday.
