Please note: Ms. Collier's book is not for children. It is an adult book.

I have to say that reading Ms. Collier's book, "Married to Sin" was emotionally very difficult for me. I had to put the book down several times when reading of the neglect and abuse that she and her siblings suffered, and of the sexual abuse of her children.

As a child, Ms. Collier eventually became a ward of the state because her parents were not able to care for her or her siblings. The care by her grandfather, however, was a great example of parenting and was very heartwarming.

The story of Ms. Collier's family has helped me to gain some understanding of the depth and breadth of devastation that affects generations when parents do not have a strong, stable marriage and when the care for their children is neglected. Her bravery is to be commended in telling of the generational consequences of physical and sexual abuse.

Darlene D. Collier is a native of Heidelberg, Mississippi, and a long time resident of Brandon, Mississippi. She was married to the late Henry Lee Collier for nearly four decades; she is the mother of six and a retired healthcare professional.

Meredith C. McGee, co-author, was born in Los Angeles, California, and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. She is the wife of William E. McGee, Jr., is a mother, a published poet, and a professional writer for Typing Solutions Résumés & Etc. (www.meredithetc.biz). She founded Heirs United Investment Club and co-founded Heirsskymall.com Inc. (www.heirsskymall.com) and Mose Dantzler Press (www.mosedpress.com).

McGee is a niece of Civil Rights icon James H. Meredith and the author of a biography "James Meredith: Warrior and the America that created him". This work is scheduled to be published by Praeger Publishing in July of 2012.
