iMovie 09

make sense.. what software do u use to edit your audio and video?

You can't directly hook this mic up to the D90. It is a USB mic.
The D90 does not give you a direct mic input so you are stuck with the on board mic. Unless you want to record audio via a different device and sync later.

have u tried hooking up that samson mic to your nikon d90?

I use iMovie 09 for my editing. It is fairly easy to extract the original (on board audio) and replace it with the Samson recording. Then it's just a matter of scrubbing around until you've got a visual sync.
I would imagine that the process would be similar for many editing softwares.
Hi, I have the Kodak Zi8 camcorder which has external mic input, so would it be possible for me to hook the Samson Go Mic directly up to the Zi8 using the Samson's headphone output?

@cricketychronic1 The Samson needs to be bus powered (it requires a USB connection for power). This means that it is useless without a computer. I use my laptop & Samson for all audio recording and the Vado for the video. I sync the two later in editing.
You can use your external mic input for a traditional analog mic (but I've heard mixed things about the results). You will still have the issue of mic placement considering the fact that you're tethered to the camera.

Do you have any tips on getting good audio with the Go Mic? I have it, and to be honest I'm not blown away by it when I use it, but yours sounds great. The main problem I get is it gets pretty "bassy" when I say certain words. Forgive me if I use the complete wrong terms, I know nothing about audio, but for example if I say words like "hello", "base", "volume", it'll get really bassy and have a lot of reverb. Yours sounds great though. I have it on omni with record volume at 40 (Windows 7).

@mleung45 It could be your environment. Sometimes the room you're recording in has a drastic impact on your end result.
Have you tried recording in a bigger room?
