@xJoshArizonax considering most use of lethal forces occurs within 10 feet of an attacker, effectively point blank. paul castles CAR system is possibly the most effective way to engage a pistol at short distance - reliably w/speed - without the risk of being disarmed.

If I ever need to defend against 4 or more stationary attackers, at 2 feet away, while moving left to right in a straight line, and looking utterly ridiculous, I will definitely use this technique.

Exactly - 5 feet and in, CAR is devastatingly effective. However, combat accuracy is good easily for most people up to 15 feet. Some folks who train often can reliably engage from 15-30 feet.
