O' Sailor Tutorial

This is my attempt at a tutorial for the song Oh Sailor by Fiona Apple. Please alert me of any corrections I may need to make. If anything's unclear, let me know that as well.

Sorry my arm looks freakish. I don't have a camera that's not attached to my MacBook. I already had to put that on top of a pile of 7 or 8 wobbly textbooks in order to even get it to see my hands. Also, apologies about the crappy singing.

thanks a lot, i really appreciate these tutorials! i got most of it down, but like you said, the second part sounds kinda iffy to me. i tried examining her live performances of the song on here and she seems to be playing something else... p.s. i couldn't comment on your other video so i had to come here

@Phazonin And I'm glad people are finding them helpful at all. I'm going to take a closer listen to the song when I get a chance and see if I can't improve upon it. Which part sounds incorrect to you, the bridge or the chorus?

If I really can't get anywhere with it, I'll try checking out one of Fiona's videos, even though I think that constitutes cheating :P.

@Robman9000 around 1:33-1:46... idk how to describe it (since I got like zero musical knowledge lol) but it sounds like with your right hand you're playing the notes she's singing, but live and on the recording i don't think she does this... i wish i could be clearer. if what i'm trying to say comes to me later on, i'll let you know haha

@Phazonin I'm not sure how to describe it either. B section of the verse maybe? I listened to it and it sounds to me like she starts out playing the melody, but then things get a little weird. I'll listen a little closer and see what I can come up with. Thanks for pointing it out.

@Robman9000 actually..... i think you were right. i was listening to the bootleg version and she's playing the melody. maybe she switches it up when she starts singing? it's hard to hear lol. anyway thanks again for this.

@Phazonin It's a combination of melody and not melody. I haven't had a chance to listen to it especially carefully, but, believe me, it's still on my to do list.
