  • I just got my first flytrap, and all these videos were really helpful...especially with propogation, as I was pretty darn clueless about (I can't wait until I get little flytraps!!)

By the way, I'll only use distilled water for the flytrap. Tap water (even filtered tap water) seemingly has way too much junk in it that plants don't like.

  • Maybe I could just go into a plant store and just steal a leaf then? >:-)

  • It's not really recommended that you perform leaf pullings at the same time as re potting or plant division. You are already giving it massive stress by uprooting it and it will likely weaken for a few weeks, even without leaf pullings. Leaf pullings should be performed when the plant is at its peak.

  • @MyHypnoEyez

You cannot use potting soil. Carnivorous plants cannot tolerate soils with any nutrients. Peat moss is the basic medium for venus flytrap propagation.

  • so can you use potting soil, or do you have to give it peat moss?

  • You are totally wrong. Distilled water is like shit to the fly trap. There is nothing in it that the plant wants, its almost nothing. Tap water can be used to the plant and all you have to do is leave it 48 hours open. It wont kill the plant.

  • Is rooting hormone really important for leaf cutting?

  • Lol the subtitles keep saying rye zone.

  • i just bought a little kit to grow these, it says it takes 1-3 months to show... i sure hope the wait is worth it and they do actually grow! :P

  • @Tellusarian thats what i did and now i have a big healthy sundew :D

  • xD

His hair. Justing beiber epic fail.

  • i thought you wernt suppose to use potting soil....
