  • I know of one other who holds his slide that way. Check out Carl Fontana on the YouTube video "Carl Fontana Plays The Blues". Exactly the same.

  • is anybody suspicious that somebody fast forwarded that, so that it seemed his hands were moving the speed of light? XD

  • @bonegasm I am also a jazz trombone player, and like musicmanson said, I have been holding my slide like that since i first learned to play. Some people have tried to tell me I'm doing it wrong, but I can't do it any other way

  • @1WFE3 It's just the way Fedchock plays (having played with him live, it's always like that even w/o the mic)

  • this song is great. were also playing this for our middle school jazz band.

  • I saw this new yorker in the middle of nowhere in illinois. he is beast

  • @bonegasm I am actually a Jazz 'Bone player and I hold my slide like that. I have ever since I first started playing. It just feels more natural to me.

  • @RJFerreiro Because most band directors know nothing about jazz, so they pick out bad arrangements of songs that they have heard of a couple of times...

  • The tone quality of the trombone sounds weird, is it the mic?

  • woooooow... our bands version of this piece is the most watered-down and easy compared to this.

  • @RJFerreiro could have something to do with the fact that the Johns Fedchock and motherflippin' Riley weren't playing on it? (No offence if you play trombone or drums)
