Why doesnt Obama do this? Reach out to the GOP! Okay, if you think the left had a problem with him saying he wanted to. Can you even see how they really hurt him if he did. They may even say hateful cold thing about him, and that this leader couldnt and wouldnt deal with. it would crush him! His whole thing has been like me please, like me. He gets up in the morning and before his coffee he check the polls to see how many love him today.

America was founded on Christian principles. But it was also founded by people who condoned slavery!

As the times change, so does morality and our understanding of reality. We know racism is wrong, but we also know from our understanding of evolution that religion is incorrect.

We need to make a drastic change in America, to a nation where we think critically and logically about our actions, rather than be guided by ignorance like religion, faith, conservatism, greed (CONSERVATIVE VALUES)

This is absurd logic. The bible was "inspired" by the IDEA of god, and not god itself.

The memeplexes/cultural ideas attached to the bible is not a new or special phenomenon. People have been worshiping gods for as long as they have feared the unknown.

All of these gods are different in character, but share the same wanton need from its followers, namely unflinching faith!!

Your faith should be kept in the privacy of your mind. Keep it out of politics, because faith is NOT fact.

I think when it comes down to it, the disparity between democrats and republicans is almost completely caused by religion.

Democrats are the more equal and logical secularists, whilst republicans are guided by conservative christian values.

So, when you have a republican making an argument and you know its absolutely illogical, perhaps its wise to reason why. Its very likely the republicans conservative christian values are being compromised.

Sorry if you were offended by my ire, but I don't care to be called something that I most definitely am not. It tends to really piss me off when people assume that just because I do not support the current pretender and chiefs policies, that I supported the policies of the last asshole in that office...I did not, and do not. It seems that that is the standard false dichotomy being bandied about here on the internet, and especially here on this channel.

I understand, it happens to me very often. Well, I generally support Obama, but with regard to the whole Afghanistan fiasco (which we know who started it, not the war, the fiasco), I usually say that you either pull out immediately or you send in 500.000 troops and actually finish the job. 30.000 troops, if Obama wants to do it right, is not going to be enough. Not by a long shot.

Immediate overwhelming force could possibly work, but to what end? America is already hated and reviled in that area, and seen as an invading force. To further antagonize people in mud huts and caves, with an overwhelming presence, could quite possibly backfire in both the world opinion, and most definitely that areas opinion. We need to stop all this useless involvement with foreign wars and imperialism, unless our very security is immediately threatened. Possible terrorism is not immediate.

It would be nice not to be involved in any conflicts for a change. I can't recall when was the last time there was a President who didn't have to deal with a war somewhere around the world. No easy way out of this one. I think. In any case, 30.000 troops is not going to be enough and since we, the people, have little to no influence on what goes on in DC, we might just have to wait and see, and hope for the best.
