what is yi xia ? Iooked up deng yi xia wait a little. Can you use yi xia by itself.
Also books using the Yale transcription have 'jyou' as only. Pin yin = zhi3 is only, according to books published in Bei Jing. I confused. Wo yao yong 'yi xia' , ye yao he shou 'only'. Ni zhong wen shoude hen ban !

@dougnickerson "yi xia" means "a little", but is used in this constructions: Verb + yi xia. (ex: Deng yi xia = wait a little, OR kan yi xia = to take a little look at). If you want use "a little" by itself, you use "yi dian'r". I suggest studying the pinyin and learning how to pronounce. More textbooks (not just those published in Beijing) are using it. :) I hope this helps!
