An alarming incident: Clashes between Greek Army, Police and ethnic Macedonians in the Lerin (Florina) region, Greece (English subtitles)

At least one ethnic Macedonian was injured and four other detained in incident that broke out in Lerin (Florina) area where the locals tried to avert a military exercise of the Greek army.
The Macedonian TV-channel A1 aired statements of the inhabitants of the villages near Lerin, a town situated in northern Greece.
The incidents took place on Monday, just 10 days after the Greek troops pulled out from the temporary camp located in the vicinity of the village of Zabrdeni at a request of local population. However, Greek military forces have been re-deployed in the area on Monday.
The locals tried to avert the troops to carry out exercises in the vicinity of the village, which was followed by an intervention of the special units of the Greek police.
Neither local inhabitants nor the local deputies were informed about the activities of the Greek army and police. The local deputies tabled a motion to Greek Parliament last week seeking stoppage of military activities near the village, claiming that the exercise caused disturbance among the local population living in this part of Greece.

"I don't care what you do, I'm not from here, I'm from far away Good that you die of cancer (!).
Since you live on the border, you must tolerate both the army and its gushot exercises. If you don't want to, then take your village beyond the Greek border!"
The above statement was made by a Greek police officer during the demonstration of the people of Lofi/Zabrdeny who demanded the permanent closure of the army exercise field in the village due to health and security reasons.
