Very nice. What are the bass instruments that look like giant guitars?

They're called Guitarrom or Guitarrom Basso. Just like a normal double bass,but made for mandolin orchestras so it fits better (and no bow is used as you can see). I believe it's of Spanish origin, although I'm not totally sure.
