Now I discover that the cause of these awkward feelings was an abortion that her parents didn't know about until the end. The way that the relationship brought about the child that brought about the emptiness (because the child was made empty...). Trippy.

I like this song. Pretty but not petty, feely but not narcissistic. He honestly expresses the awkward feelings involved in his relationship. His strange feelings about himself, about his experience of life (though he doesn't say it that way, he means it). But the chorus, quite well done. "She's a brick and I'm drowning slowly, off the coast and I'm bound for nowhere".... Just saying it straight out!!!

When I first heard of Ben Folds Five, I imagined a guy named Ben folding five pieces of paper. It was not until later that I realized that one of the members was named Ben Folds, and that there are five members in the band.
