Why did Ricardo (the accomplice) get off scott-free?

I don't fully know why.

The DA's office and I discussed a plea agreement where the killer would receive 35 years in exchange for a guilty plea plus testifying at trial against Ricardo.

The killer decided not to testify and as a result Ricardo was released.

I asked how this could happen and never received a satisfactory answer. I left several messages for the Asst. DA (Buddy Meyer) but he never returned my phone calls.

Ricardo was released on the anniversary of my daughter's murder.

Not only does the DA not care if the family approves or not, in this case they completely screwed up. As a result the accomplice, Ricardo Roman, was freed. 

Eventually justice will be served.

He shot her cause he is a pig that couldnt accept rejection. Its amazing how weak these "tuff" guys are -- act macho and bad, but really they are terrified of being seen, by others, as being rejected. They seem to want so desperately to be seen a certain way -- and react violently if their status is threatened.

I just happened to see this video as I was looking for other information. I speak to women about violence in relationships but this case hits so close to home. My heart goes out to Jenifer's family.

Though nothing will bring her back, I am so glad to see her family actively involved in getting the word out about this kind of tragedy. Both Teen and adults should be well aware of just how often abuse and violence in relationships occurs.

There is something inherently wrong with our justice system that he gets only 35 years for cold-blooded murder.

And eligible for Parole? Are you kidding me? he should have gotten at least twice the amount of years 70 . Guilty plea or not. He took Jennifer's chance at life, the state should take his.
