Raid: Icecrown Citadel
Difficulty: 10-Man Regular
Boss: Sindragosa

Last boss of the Frostwing Lair, and last step before the Lich King.

This encounter is one of those that need almost flawless execution. There is stuff to be aware of and not paying atention to one of those can make your group wipe.
There will be constant frost raid-wide damage during grounded phases.

Phase 1: Grounded
She will remain on ground until her health goes down to 80%, then she will alternate between ground and air phases.
During the ground phases, the tank needs to face away from the raid, and leaving her flank open for the DPS (As she is a dragon, she cleaves from the front and Tails Swipes from the back).
While attacking with melee attacks, you have a 20% chance to get a stack of Chilled to the Bone, wich deals aditional frost damage per application. Sometimes with luck, you can get rid of it by doing nothing, but if it starts stacking above 5, just stop attacking and wait for it to drop.
Meanwhile, casters will get Unchained Magic, this will make them get Instability, wich after 8 seconds deals 2k Arcane damage, multiple casts during the duration will stack, increasing the damage received when they drop off.
Another important ability is the Blistering Cold, before casting it, Sindragosa will pull the whole raid to her with Icy Grip, people need to run away from her inmediately because this ability deals 30k Frost damage.
The tank will also get affected by the slowing effects of the Frost Breaths, but as a Paladin I made my own strategy to avoid the slows =P.

Phase 2: Air
When she goes in the air, 2 members of the raid will get a beacon on them, they have to move away form everyone else because after some seconds, Sindragosa will throw an Ice Tomb on them, freezing them in place. Selecting spots to drop the tombs beforehand is extremelly useful.
After the tombs, Sindragosa will cast 4 Frost Bombs, to avoid them people have to move out of line of sight of the bombs using the tombs, and at the same time, DPS down the tombs without destroying them before the 4th bomb lands. If the Ice Tombs are not destroyed after the 4th bomb, the person trapped will start getting damaged and eventually die. After this Phase 1 resumes and the cycle continues until 35%.

Phase 3
She will remain grounded and will get new abilities, one is Mystic Buffet wich applies a debuff that cause the target to receiva 15% increased magic damage, casted every 5 seconds. She will now cast Ice Tombs on land, but only will affect 1 target, again, having a spot slected beforehand is better. This Ice Tombs are not only to bother, they are there to get out of line of sight of Sindragosa and drop de Mystic Buffet... still, you can't wait to DPS the Ice Tomb down because these are casted every 15 seconds or so... this means that every person should be aware of their stacks, and run to the Ice Tomb ASAP.
Tanks need to switch every 2 tombs or so, to don't let the Mystic Buffet stack too high.
This part of the fight is really hard, and will need good comunication and coordination.
40 seconds before the Berserk timer hits, is better to stop saving people from the Ice Tombs and just DPS the boss down.

NOTE: This was done before the ICC Buff, wich is currently 30% and before anyone killed the Lich King, so gear was not that good.

  • What were you in this video? Priest, tank, ect?

  • @rsgood4u Did you consider the PoV? its right in front of the big ass dragon, meaning i'm the Tank, lol (Sry if i sounded mean, didn't intend to, i just felt like that with the comment xD)

  • can you only fight the bosses once or are you able to go back and and again?

  • @cupsnst00f no, Raid bosses are in a weekly lockout (at least the current content ones), which means you can fight them once a week (even though now there is a way to fight bosses more than once per week you cannot get gear after the first kill).

Heroic Dungeon bosses are in a Daily lockout.

  • @NatsuhikoMiroku Nah it's cool, i just started playing so was wondering.

  • I'm a troll mage. Is that a good thing to be?

  • Anyone else get chills watching WoW fights >.<

  • @fatpersononabicyle as you can see here, or in any of my other raid videos, the boss battles are totally different to those in common videogames, because you don't depend only in yourself, you have to do stuff right coordinating with other 9 or 24 people, and every boss has its own strategy, so every time a new raid instance is introduced, we players have to go and try the battles, learn them, and finally down the bosses =P
