We have now reached, as of March 19,2008, the 5th anniversary of the Iraq War. As of this posting,almost 4000 American Soldiers and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi Civilians have died,a million plus Iraqi's displaced, countless wounded and the families of the dead and wounded forever changed. This war poorly planned and executed on the foundation of false and manipulated intelligence,costing half a trillion dollars,and increasing the hatred for America around the world needs to end.

The words of Pie Jesu (in latin)
Pie Jesu
Qui tollis peccata mundi
Dona eis requiem
Agnus Dei
Dona eis requiem sempiternam

basically mean:

Merciful Jesus
Who takes away the sins of the world
Grant them rest
Lamb of God
Grant them everlasting rest.

Mr. Webber wrote the beautiful music to these words and others as part of his "Requiem" in remembrance of his father. I sing this song in remembrance of all who have died due to this war and I pray for Peace.

Another one of my favorite songs to hear, a movingly beautiful song. I first heard it a few years ago, the Gabriel Faure version, performed by Kathleen Battle, and was mesmerized. Then, last year, I discovered this version sung by Katherine Jenkins, and was moved once again. To my great pleasure, I get to hear you and this harmonic ensemble present it with your gentle, loving and peaceful style, and am moved once again. I love it. Hope you have more sacred pieces for me to discover Jim!
