At a crossing as a CN (Canadian National) freight train passes by.
We actually were able to get 3 trains in about 20 minutes, which was nice!, as it was very cold out! ;)
This is the First of the Three that will be uploaded.
Recorded on: November 03, 2007 at around 8:30 PM.
Hope u like it! :)
sorry, the train (everything) looks stretched as it was recorded in wide screen.
They're saying that the line through Munster will see a drop off from about 20-30 trains to about 7. My guess is that the change will occur after Summer of 2008. That is assuming that the United States Surface Transportation Board will approve.

k, thanks, so r u saying that this track will NOT be used n e more? Or just that certain train companies will not be using them. And do they kno approx. when?

Yeah, I know I live in Munster. The Times posted a story called Train traffic would jump under CN plan. You can check it out at their website.

Ya sorry I meant to say reroute, it is just i would be surprised, as there is a double track that goes through there and goes quite a ways down both ways and also has a track that branches off of one of the tracks just a little ways down.

Read the comment I posted below.

that would be odd, there is much train traffic on this route. U will usually see one train every 30-60 minutes. And on this night we saw 3 in less than 30 minutes, and there was actually gonna be another one coming (had an approach signal), but we didn't want to wait as we were freezing!
I would be sad if they do close it, but i wold be surprised! :(

You gotta be Kidding! Are they gonna close that strech of track through Highland and Munster and any Eastbouund CN Train will switch at Griffith? I was in Valparaiso just recently and traffic was moving ok there, it be impossible if the entire strech in Valparaiso would shut down and give Norfolk Southern & CP a serious increase on the Chicago Line.

You better catch them soon. As soon as CN buys out EJ&E, they're gonna reroute through Dyer instead of Munster.
