Some jujitsu instructors poo-poo crossing the feet on an armbar to avoid the possibility of placing the foot of the leg over your opponent's neck on top of your inside foot. This is a mistake that allows your opponent to easily roll into you and escape the submission.
However, if your feet are crossed the opposite way (as demonstrated in this video) it's a solid hold. Make sure to know the difference before crossing your feet. Subtle things like that make a huge difference in grappling.

Hi S101- when your partner has this armbar defense, we are taught to kick their elbow off because he is giving you all the leverage in the world from this position. Cheers

I guess this move would work, but as people will think your kinda douchey, wouldnt it be better to push his bicep with your right foot instead?? That was you avoid any kind of "is that legal or not?" Questions and also i guess it would be the same in terms of percentages in getting the tap. Or am i missing something.?

can't get a douchebag. wtf?

can i use this move and the douche bag in a grappling competition???

control of the leg so that you don't have to have your leg over their kneck to keep them from countering your moves. also if you consider the normal arm bar position what most people do, you make them a lot less comfortable in this position.

what does the spider web have that is so much better than a normal just armbar postion??

The "frowned upon" part is what makes it inspired by the douchebag... It's not called the douchebag because it resembles a feminine hygiene product in execution, its because it's a move that kinda labels you as a douchebag lol. This is the same idea... It's a definite trump card when you land it, and it's kinda to easy.. Douchebaggy =P
i don't think this move is explicitally illegal but this type of technique is definitely frowned upon. if it turns into a heel kick instead of a heel push then it is definitely illegal, so you have to be careful not to get too excited going for this one.

One the reasons I don't heel kick into the sternum. I pull into it.

I was asked in a comment about the % rate of the stake. Hard to say but maybe a 70-80% release rate.
