According to GameFAQs, the Troopa Pin boosts the attack of the wearer by 50%. The boost doesn't show up when you equip it, but you'll notice it in battle.

The Ghost Medal is similar, as it decreases damage from enemies by 50%, but the defense boost won't be visible when you equip it.

1:42 believe it or not if you do 100 consecutive super jumps and talk to the guy he will give you the super suit which i believe is the most powerful equip, correct me if i'm wrong

Attack Scarf: Increases all stats, including Speed, by 30. Mario only.

Ghost Medal: Gives the Defense Up status automatically at the start of battle. Which, as previously mentioned, cuts damage in half, doesn't actually affect your Defense or Magic Defense stat.

Troopa Pin: Gives the Attack Up status automatically at the start of battle. Which, as previously mentioned, increases damage by 50%, doesn't actually affect your Attack or Magic Attack stat. Also +20 Speed.
