wanna know why solar power has NEVER BEEN DEVELOPED?
Because it's ENERGY WONT BE A THING U COULD SELL to the SHEEPLE......
THe only thing u could sell is a mirror wich could be used for 100 or 200 years if u really care of it.

Would it be possible to make a solar foundry that can be used for melting copper and aluminium for casting into ingots?

@GREENPOWERSCIENCE you mean you tried to melt the filament of a lightbulb with the lens?
Tungsten has a melting point of 3420 Celcius thats the highest melting point of any steel.
what is the highest temperature you ever get with a fresnel lens?. it would be very cool to melt some steel with a fresnel lens.

@veryfuck Hi, A Fresnel Lens would be the best choice. I have tried a 20 sq ft lens but did not work except for a bulb filament. The 1/8" rod would not budge.

@mikemorr100 No, they are now diffused as of 1990. They only warm stuff up.
