    so a reasonably intelligent person might suspect it's Sokolov playing

  • @Quuee7n the left one is pianist Misha Dichter, picture took in 1966 during the Tchaikovsky Competition when Sokolov won 1st prize and Dichter came the 2nd, Gilels was the chair of the jury

  • @shruti2321 yeah, there is Gilels in the picture. Sokolov is the boy on the right.

  • i don't know if it's just me, but i'm pretty damn sure that's gilels in the picture, not sokolov...but thanks for the post anyways, good recording :)
